What could possibly pair better with a Sunday than good food, excellent wine and great company? La Mouette has the recipe for success. Over the next few months, they are hosting a number of Sunday Winedays and I would suggest booking right now in order to avoid disappointment.
Kicking off the first event, was Creation Wines from the beautiful Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Chef Henri, as always, delivered a showcase of perfectly complemented dishes to match Winemaker JC Martin’s esteemed portfolio of wines. JC took the time between each course to explain the wines in detail and invited guests to the farm to experience the rest of the range.
Carolyn and JC Martin, along with La Mouette’s Lara, were the perfect hosts for the occasion.
Cured Yellowtail with compressed cucumber, apple puree, charred onions and dill oil. Paired with Creation Sauvignon Blanc/ Semillion 2016.
Prawn Laksa with coconut broth, baby bok choy, crispy shallots, sweetcorn and a prawn oil. Paired with Creation Chardonnay Reserve 2016.
Tartiflette. Crispy ham hock, aged Dalewood Superlatif, shallot puree and mustard frill. Paired with Creation Pinot Noir Reserve 2015.
Lamb with black garlic paste, buffalo milk yoghurt, charred baby gem and Moroccan spiced jus. Paired with Creation Syrah 2015.
A selection of Chef Henri’s famous petit fours.
The next Sunday Winedays are:
