No visit to the Robertson Valley is complete without a visit to Zandvliet. Famously known as the ‘Home of Shiraz’, it has become far more than that. Being one of the very first wineries in the country to bottle this noble cultivar, this wine estate on the outskirts of the Robertson Valley combines time-honoured tradition with modern-day expertise to produce pure luxury in a glass.
Visitors are encouraged to participate in a variety of unique experiences on the estate.
Enjoy the signature ClemenGold and Zandvliet synergy pairing in the brand new Kalkveld Lounge. This new tasting room, inspired by the flagship Kalkveld Shiraz, with its atmosphere of understated luxury, was opened in December 2016. Interior designer Philip Pikus took the concept of a working farm and integrated that into the interior with elements of old and new in perfect harmony
Step back in time as you explore the underground art exhibition in the recently discovered Muscat tanks. The kuips are the perfect place to display both vintage wine, as well as showcase local South African art. You can also try your hand in blending wine with Zandvliet’s own expert, Leslie. Once you have created and named your blend, it is yours to take home
