We are open for business and so excited to introduce the space to you. Our second pop up saw us partner with the exclusive Idiom wine estate and their award-winning Italian cultivars. Food was the brainchild of Gehard Van de Merwe, owner and head chef of Husk Restaurant in Woodstock.

We wanted to bring ‘The Good Life’ to our customers, taking them on an Italian culinary journey. 5 courses were paired with five different wines, balancing both the textures of the food and the flavours of the Italian cultivars.

On arrival, guests were treated to a glass of the Pasqua Romeo and Juliette Prosecco paired with Bruschette di Parma with a fig, apple and rose jam.

After taking their seats, they were poured a crisp glass of the Bianco di Stellenbosch 2019 paired with Tuna tartare, caviar and zucchini. All final service and plating took place in front of guests and they were encouraged to ask questions and engage in conversation over the pairings.

Next up was the Rosso de Stellenbosch 2017 served with a creamy wild mushroom and artichoke risotto.

Our main course was a spin on a classic italian meat dish, Osso Bucco. This was served as a ravioli with a roasted chesnut and sage butter. The Idiom Zinfandel 2016 was the perfect parn

To close the evening on the right note, an individual cheese and panna cotta board was paired with the Idiom “Black Gold” Hailstorm Merlot.

We set the mood with bright pops of fuschia pink and dark blacks against natural african grass mats to keep the local element of the evening.
